Week 3: Weekend and Placement

It’s week 3 of my school placement already. To think that before I went to England I was anxious about going teaching again, but now that I’ve been teaching for a bit longer than 2 weeks already, it sort of feels like a routine!

Week 3 started off with a wonderful weekend at home. My girlfriend Saskia came over for the weekend and we (us two and a bunch of my friends) went to see a band (Pilot Flame) perform live (release party of their debut album) in a bar in town. It was really entertaining and I had a chance to show off my girl *grin* . Really funny to see my friends already quite tipsy when we arrived, that certainly made a good first impression hahaha! Had the weekend to ourselves for the better part of it, which was perfect!

Had to go to school placement on Monday morning though, which meant I didn’t really get a chance to see my girlfriend off, but we said goodbye while she was still half asleep hahaha… I’ll make up for it this weekend haha.

So school placement it is again. 2 weeks down, 7 to go, or in fact already less than that. Yesterday saw quite nice weather for a change, which meant that being at school for some pupils would be less appealing, I noticed this because I teach . It was the least of my days up to now (1 out of 9, that’s still quite alright!) and I still do not feel uneasy about teaching! Because even though there were a few moments during the day, especially during my second lesson of the day, when I felt tired because of teaching and keeping order, most of the day was still rather pleasant.

Now, Tuesday morning @ 9.13AM, I’m sitting in the teacher’s lounge, typing this on a computer, which means I have an hour to spare… Have to teach at least one more class today for sure. I’m not even on a third of my placement, and I’m already almost halfway through the required amount of lessons! . I have team meeting later this afternoon, and from what I’ve heard -i.e. unless someone has drastically altered the previously mentioned plans- we are going to eat out with the whole team, because two members are leaving. Really nice of them to invite us interns along as well, makes me really feel welcome and part of the team even more! I mean, people here actually talk! to! me!
